SVOLT Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a leading provider of innovative battery solutions, has introduced three new prismatic “Short Blade” batteries that revolutionize fast charging for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
SVOLT is demonstrating the potential of short blade technology with its world première of a 6C fast-charging battery based on NMC. According to the manufacturer, it allows charging from ten to 80 per cent SOC in five minutes.
The new SVOLT “Short Blade” 5C fast charging battery, based on lithium iron phosphate, is set to begin mass production soon. This innovative energy storage solution can charge from 10% to 80% in just ten minutes and has a lifespan of 3,500 charge cycles.
SVOLT showcases the potential of “Short Blade” technology with the world premiere of a 6C fast charging battery based on NCM. It allows charging from 10% to 80% SOC (state-of-charge) in just five minutes. For many electric vehicles, this would mean an additional range of 500 to 600 kilometers during a coffee break.
It seems to confirm that the short-blade shape is the optimal solution for BMW’s standardized production of square-shaped battery cells. The battery manufacturing technology can be divided into two routes: winding and stacking.
Based on the average family driving 20,000 kilometer a year, the New Short Blade EV Battery Technology can be in service for up to 50 years, significantly extending the usage life of the battery, improving the residual value of second hand EVs, and reducing carbon emissions by more than 80,000 tons a year.
