Actually, DC and AC power supplies of auxiliary services are insured by batteries, generator, rectifiers and inverters. In this work, we want to add another source based on renewable energies to obtain a hybrid system and reinforce the main service of transformer substations.
The exploitation of transmission or distribution network of substations requires auxiliary electrical sources with low continuous and alternative voltage. Actually, DC and AC power supplies of auxiliary services are insured by batteries, generator, rectifiers and inverters.
Integrating renewable energy resources into electrical distribution networks necessitates using battery energy storage systems (BESSs) to manage intermittent energy generation, enhance grid reliability, and prevent reverse power flow.

In addition to DC power supplies, the operation of the EHV / HV transformer station requires the availability of auxiliary low voltage AC sources, to ensure various functions (power, lighting, heating, air conditioning, pumping…). The alternative power source is provided by an MV / LV transformer called Auxiliary Services Transformer or TSA.
The state of charge influences a battery’s ability to provide energy or ancillary services to the grid at any given time. Round-trip eficiency, measured as a percentage, is a ratio of the energy charged to the battery to the energy discharged from the battery.
